What a better way to inspire your kiddos than applying concepts from Dr. Seuss' book "Oh The Places You'll Go". You will need the book to complete this lesson, but there are multiple digital and read aloud version online (Youtube offers some good options). Included in this packet is a clear step by step lesson for teachers as well as a planning sheet and differentiated formats for final copies that students can use. Aligned to the ideas in the Leader In Me Program, students can begin with the end in mind and reflect on where they want to go, and what they have to do to get there, while tying in concepts from the book!

Check out this simple and clear running record reference sheet. With seven pre-determined abbreviations and a blank spot for one more, this attachment is meant to be printed and stapled to the documentation for running records. This way students can reference what they need to work on and why they did well. It is intended to align to a 60 second reading fluency test. Abbreviations included are things like misread word, omitted word, skips a line, etc. This is a great way to streamline and be transparent with these acitvites!

Check out this simple 5-question assessment that offers insight into students' understanding of scarcity and abundance concepts. Presented with 3 multiple choice question and 2 short answer drawing representations, this assessment can serve as a great quiz or exit ticket. It can also be adapted for independent work or homework.Through a variety of prompts of short stories, this worksheet ask students to identify a specific element from the story as a scarcity, and abundance, a supply, a demand, and more! An answer key is included for your convenience!

Check out this simple and student friendly behavior reflection form. This is meant to be implemented daily, which allows students to think through their day, reflect on wha they did well, and plan for the next day. Each of the simple questions is presented with a simple frowning fact, straight face, and smiling face. There are also three questions at the bottom. This serves as a great documentation form but also a meaningful way to push students to think critically about their behavior! Check out this alternative brainstorming graphic organizer that pushes students to think through topics and ideas an a different way. The identified topic begins at the top, and then students think of different ideas related to it. Though students don't need to fill up the whole chart, the idea is that they think about different words starting with different letters. This forces them to diversify their answers. Supplement your class-wide KWL chart to having students keep their own KWL template that they can track their own learning. Check out this simple and student-friendly rubric which is meant to be used to evaluate student science journals. The rubric is broken into four categories, of which students can score between a 1 and a 4. Each score for each section includes explicit description of what you need to obtain that score. A guide on the bottom shows how to calculate up to a percentage grade. This is meant to be provided to the students, so they know what is expected of them with the journals, and then used to grade at the end of the quarter, or semester, or year. Whatever the event may be, check out this simple and purposeful form to generate documentation of attendance and key components. There are 20 lines, and three sections on the side for the even name, the date and time as well as any notes. This is a great way to collect data for later reference, and is presented in a school-friendly format. Check out this 13 item survey that can provide valuable insight into what students like, don’t like, where their interests lie, and how they feel about school. This data can be used to plan for lessons, implement intervention, differentiate, improve engagement and so much more. This questionnaire can either be distributed and filled out but students or used as an interview format to gain a better understanding of student priorities.

Keep track of the interventions implemented for students with this handy form! The intention is that every student has an assigned sheet that is either kept for documentation on the teacher’s side of things are attached to a folder or binder for the student. For those of us not fortunate enough to have a single sign-on digital infrastructure, sometimes it becomes extremely difficult to have students remember their passwords for all the website we have them use (ex. NewsELA, Study Island, iReady, iStation, RAZ, and ALL the others). Check out this simple and convenient one page reference sheet to list a students multiple accounts. Either the teacher can store a binder with each students’ logins, or the student can keep this themselves. This hopefully will streamline login time, and maximize digital instructional learning time!

Check out this 10 question assessment that check students’ understanding of using guide words to navigate dictionaries. Students WILL NEED an actual dictionary in front of them, as this is a hands-on interactive assessment. The first five questions prompt students to identify the two guide words on the page of five identified words. The second portion of the assessment prompts students to identify if the identified word would fall on the page of the identified guide words. An answer key is included for your convenience.
